George Harrison Marionette - 'Any Road'

George Harrion's music comes to life in a most extraordinary way - in the form of a life size, fully animated marionette creation ( string operated puppet).

This 'Harrisonette' performs the wonderful Harrisong "Any Road" with lifelike movements. Watch as he plays upon a recreation of one of George's favourite ukuleles.

The 6 ft tall figure was crafted entirely by hand out of carefully sculpted styrofoam and fabric coverings over a 4 month period by one artist. An additonal 2 weeks were dedicated to building his banjolele out of posterboard and foamcore.

All movements are done by hand by pulling nylon strings from a pair or large wooden control bars from above. There are no electronics of any kind used for bringing this character to life.

This project is dedicated to those precious few who knew the true GH, and it is a fond wish that they are able to see and enjoy this.

The song may seem to sound a pitch higher then you are familar with due to the playback system used ( tape)...but it was not purposely 'sped up'.
