I'm not a fan of country music. But Ms. Carpenter's range of expression can make a fan and believer out of anybody. What I like about her songs are their expressiveness, their wistful tenderness and longing and the core of inner strength that shines through even in songs of heartache. I believe this video is the perfect visual accompaniment to those qualities, showing the broad range of humanity that gathers together, displaying their clumsy passionate longing on the dance floor. What an artist.
