Sometimes these skiers go beyond the borders of middle earth and to bigger, snowier places like Colorado and foggier places like Mt Hood. poles doesn't make u a better skier even tho it looks more professional.
tom wallisch didn't use poles before he became a pro.
and still, u dont really use them poles either, it just makes everything harder, and u gotta learn ur moves before clicking the "Advanced button".. but dont hate on this guy, he's really good, and sum of those grinds i've never even seen before!
