**EDIT**

This is for sale again, the buyer crapped out so go grab yourself a one of a kind:

So here's a demo of my SNES PC I put together, it was done quickly so you'll have to forgive the poor picture quality/shakeycam.

This video shows the system booting and the custom BIOS and Windows XP boot screen. It also shows the systems installed currently and the joypad in action.

To exit games I just press L+R+START+SELECT

The PC inside the SNES is an EPIA M10000 ITX motherboard and I have only made ONE alteration to the SNES to get this in there, the RF port had to go. It still uses the PSU jack to power it via the external mini brick and the A/V port still works with composite video and stereo sound. Any A/V lead for the SNES will work on this. The pads still work too and are now recognised as USB HID devices. No alterations were made to the pads themselves so any SNES pad will work (even the SNES mouse).

The spare pins on the joypad port have been used to facilitate upgrades and alterations via USB. I have made two adaptors for this purpose. I usually plug in a flash stick and keyboard/mouse.

All in all I'm very pleased with how this turned out. I know it's been done before but this is the real deal. Nothing cut up or gaping ugly holes in the back of the machine.

Cooling is handled with a small fan at the back which does a great job drawing hot air out through the vents in the back of the SNES.

This is currently up for auction here:

If you want it, go get it!

  • How much it cost?

  • In total probably about £70 but now I'd say it'd be more like £50 all in. It's using a pretty old ITX platform but it runs just fine with these emulators.

  • If I did that it wouldn't be a PAL SNES now would it? ;-)

  • @hoschiadedodi 1. No he's probably using a mini itx power supply 2. no he just used a kit to change the signal by soldering 3. Depends which distro... Sorry about the delay hopefully my insight is still useful.

  • Hm, coincidently just bought an epia m10000 three days ago for the purpose of putting it in my SNES case.

Are you using the standard Nintendo power supply?

Did you make your own circuit board to use the control pad work on the usb port?

Did you think about using a Linux that will boot in seconds?
