@thaiblacky That's why pros are always thinking long term. It still stings more emotional pros like Hellmuth to lose a pot when you did the right thing, but they all are more focused on their overall results rather than a specific session. I would argue that the simple fact that they play so often eliminates the problem of "timing".

That being said - I totally agree skill is a higher factor in other sports. Skill isn't completely lacking from poker though. That's how pros are just that: pros!

@you2besux Will any person ever repeat in a WSOP main event again? Probably not. The field has gotten huge. I don't care if you had 1000 players play against kobe or MJ they would lose in a pick up game. Put me 1 on 1 with Phil Ivey in a critical situation in the main event and even when his skill gives him a big edge say his JJ over my 22, he would still lose one in 5 times. It is a game of LUCK, although skill means you win more.

@SocrTrump If you played long enough like the pros do then the prob and odds become facts.The part where i comment on it will never be more than a game of luck lies in the problem of timing. Although its a fact that in the odds are what they are it still doesn't mean that because you do the "right thing" that you will win.It is luck at that point.Even in a great spot, the stats and prob don't=a win, where as in another sport doing the "right thing" and having better skill would= a win
