Part 1 of 3. This segment shows the beginning of the peeling of a 2nd state Beatles Yesterday And Today 1966 Butcher album jacket. This peel was accomplished by the traditional steam method. The jacket had previously been subjected to three attempted peels by a person or persons unknown. Three of the four corners of the trunk slick had been torn superficially. The Butcher picture itself was not damaged by these three attempted peels. The peel was accomplished on July 3, 2009. • I have a copy which I got 2 years ago from a storage auction. The cover is so beat up that you cannot see Ringo's shirt, but the one corner was picked at exposing the alternate cover... I considered pealing it due to the paste over quality is poor. Is steam pulling truly the best way to pull the cover, and how long did it take you to perform the pull?

  • @EclipseProjectFilms Most peels are not this easy. Many different adhesives were used by the different plants employed for the pasting over. What number is by the RIAA logo on the back of the jacket? If there is a white haze over the Somnnambulant picture where the trunk has been turned back, it is not water peelable.

  • Steam peel....water.

  • silly question, would this record be worth more peeled or left alone?and what state would it be before and after peeling?thanks for an awesome post,i could watch this stuff all day.

  • Glad you enjoyed it! There are no silly questions. A paste-over is a 2nd state. Peeled it is a 3rd state. As a general rule, 2nd states are holding a higher value. Of course, this is dependent upon condition. If the 2nd state is poor & the peel is near perfect, you probably have increased the worth. This video's trunk slick had damage from prior attempted peels, none damaging the Butcher slick. Also, this is a stereo jacket, which is worth more than a mono from the start, in either state.

  • i have a copy that looks exactly like your on the trunck cover it has original capitol label and sleeve is it a possible butcher?

  • Most Yesterday And Today trunk covers may be considered possible Butchers.

  • @kathy07002 Actually the Beatles liked the photoshoot when they took the butcher pictures. They were starting to get really bored with the usual shoots, and and the concept was compatible with their own black humour.

  • @DoctorKaye Mine is a 5

  • Why would you do this?? The adhesive will be noticeable and people will no that you peeled the sticker off! It just went from $500 to $50. -_-

I did the same thing and tried selling it at Amoeba Hollywood. They were upset and rejected my offer.

  • Funny how John Lennon was telling the truth.

  • Some copies of YESTERDAY & TODAY with the original cover photo went into that bonifre in Birmingham,Alabama in 1966. Thank John Lennon for inspiring that, telling an audience that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ.

  • now its worth less
