Yes - nothing wrong with that either. I've seen Noel do it both ways as well. Personally, I think the B7 sounds a little better than the D... but the right way of course is the way it sounds best to you.

Have you tried this variation on the "I'll be you, and you'll be me, ..." part:

(E) I'll be you and you'll be me (Amaj7sus2) lots and lots for us to see (C#m [021000] variation) lots and lots for us to do (C) she is electric (B7) can I be electric (E) too.

It gives a slightly more interesting change in tone during that sequence of lyrics.
