In Loving Memory of Steven Howard

Sunday July 31, 2011, I lost the most precious person in my life. Steven was my life partner, my best friend, my confidant, my cheerleader, my angel, my all. Our hopes and dreams were to take place over our lifetime, instead I have been faced with the sudden, unexpected loss of the man I was to grow old with.

It still seems like the most horrific nightmare, but sadly there is no waking up with him by my side. I will always love Steven, and be so very grateful for his ability to give me a lifetime of memories and love during our time together.

I want to see your beautiful face. I want to feel your kiss. I want you to hold me and tell me you love me. I want to watch you dance with Brooke. I want to hold your perfect warm hands. I want to look into your beautiful blue eyes. I want to listen to Sam Bush together. I want to share a pickle with you. I want you, Brooke and me to watch "Lord of the Rings". I want to walk in our garden and pick our tomatoes. I want to sit with our family and love them together. I want you to beat me and Brooke at Magic. I want you to tickle Brooke and me, snuggling together on the couch. I want to hear your car pull in the garage and see you walk through the door, so I can tell you how you made me a better person, how you made me laugh, how you made me smile, how much you inspired me, how you challenged me to see the beauty all around me. You were the best father Brooke could have ever had and I got to witness the most beautiful love you had for her. And to tell you that yes, at times you made me crazy. But most of all, you filled my heart with so much joy, happiness, love and I couldn't have asked for a better partner to share life with. You are the most wonderful gift I have ever had the privilege of being blessed with. I love you all the way to Plutos and back.
