A poem by Neurolanis
Only art heals
The rest only kills
The light inside
Smiles can be so kind
But the'yre half the edge
Of a razor that blinds
It's a shriek
A bloody wreckage
Twisting me inside
Words, so smooth
Pleasing to the ear
But lies, I fear
Gestures, so expected
Given like routine
For self-image
Pastimes are distracting;
An energized illusion
For self-destructing
Truths fall in fragments
We let them loose, let them fall
Like shadows on the ground
You, you are so fair
So unimagined, so near
A gift I could never share
Love is heaven;
The escape from pain
Only truth there reigns
When the heart is open
And free
It sees only possibilities
But until we are one
Until we are free
Until the emptiness leaves...
I cannot escape it
It will always trick me
It will always find me
It's cruel and relentless
It cowers when I shine
And strikes when I pine
It's like a cruel twin
Or a burning skin;
Burning me everyday
Words could never say
The light never stays
Only art heals.

Not my best poem, but one from the heart. Felt the need to let it out.
Beautiful poem, very moving.
