720p h264 video from the Aiptek HD camcorder playing on the Acer Aspire One in Windows

There is no sound so as to protect viewers from my live commentary.

Note: The jumping on the zooming is not due to the laptop, but the camcorder. It is only equipped with digital zoom, and does not smoothly zoom in or out.

  • my Acer Aspire D150 running OSX and XP is also capable to play 1080p video , already done a video with the test , it is not online , but I will upload it !!

  • Yes, it depends quite a bit on the codec. 1080p WMV is no problem on the XP install, but it has very, very bad support for h.264. I'd imagine OSX would be much better, however.

  • The res on the AA1 is 1024x600. It can't even do 720 sorry.

  • Well sure; it obviously can't display the resolution; but the question I was investigating was whether it has the hardware power to render and display (and in this case scale) a 720p video. The answer is yes.

  • ey guys if i were u i would wait more time since acer is gonna release the 2nd generation of the aspire one, i read it on google news.

and this year , besides, intel will make another atom for netbooks, it will be 1.66ghz with 667 mhz front side bus.

  • Beautiful Video

  • Not sure about Tibia (too lazy too Google it right now), but WOW, Guild Wars, and Runescape should work fine, GW might get a little laggy in places with lots of people.

  • would i be able to play an mmorpg such as tibia/wow/guildwars/RS2? on this?='/

  • thank you
