  • I had only seen the "The Great Caruso" Lanza performane of this. Glad Ive found your clip compilation with the full Lanza Che Gelida Manina. Its beautiful. My dear old ma will love seeing it. Thanks.

  • thank you mario his rendition of this aria is absolutely spendid you will always be remembered

  • WONDERFUL MARIO !!!

  • Tauheke: Pathological, in psychiatric terms, means rooted in a mental or emotional defect. No matter how he tried, how much treatment he received, Lanza could not over come his stage fright or insecurities: he performed in repertory only twice. It also contributed to his death at 38: he was in a 'health clinic' or sanitarium to overcome a huge weight gain and prepare for a concert tour when he died. He had all the gifts, Mario, except emotional health, and it killed him. Tragic.

  • @1906sfjd Pathological is incorrect... you mean chronic stage fright dont you?

    Cheers

  • The greatest rendition of this beautiful aria bar none....Mario had it all, period. Noone ever approached the quality of his singing and never will. His voice was extraordinary.

  • A pity that Lanza had such pathological stage fright he only performed twice in repertory. That's why the purists knock him: they think he was a Hollywood creation. This is an extraordinary voice: soaring, musical, with a flawless emotional reading that makes this one of the great Rodolfos. Bravo, maestro Lanza.

  • Noone has ever, ever equaled the rendition of this beautiful aria. Tow quote Toscani, "The greatest voice of the century...."

  • Noone has ever, ever equaled the rendition of this beautiful aria.

  • I love this aria..have grown wi Mario Lanza music.. Love ...It..
