I Promise You// A Nemi One Shot

As I walked into Demi's house to write some music with her after she finally came home from the treatment center, I felt my heart beat like it never did before, I was going to see her for the first time again since tour. I opened the door, I saw her turned to the piano. She was playing the softest melody with splendor and grace. It's impossible for someone not to fall for her. We've been best friends for 4 years now and still she doesn't know about my feelings for her and the bad part was that she dated Joe, but today I'm determined to tell her the truth.

I slowly walked into the room, she turned around, and that beautiful face with that beaming smile got me helpless. "Nick! I'm so glad you're here!" She stood up and hugged me so I hugged her soft skin back. After she let go I smiled at her like I never let anyone see before. "You look as amazing as ever" I told her whilst she was sitting again at the piano. "Thanks Nick" She giggled a little "You're the sweetest". I sat down with her. It was now or never, I had to tell her what I felt before it was too late. "Demi" She looked at me with her brown innocent eyes. "I have to tell you something..." My heart was racing. "Is there something wrong Nick?" It just came out of me" I Like You" Demi's eyes widened; I could tell that she couldn't believe me. "I've loved you since we went on tour; I've stayed in love with you even after you were dating Joe, even when I was dating someone else. But I guess I haven't been able to tell you because I was just afraid that you wouldn't feel the same way?" She was still silent but wasn't looking at me anymore. I became anxious I think I just humiliated myself in front of the girl I love and just broke our friendship. "I..." Before I could say anything else she stopped me. "I like you too Nick, but after what happened with Joe, I'm scared to love someone who doesn't love me the way that I love that person. And I like you too much to get hurt again" I went closer to her and slowly brushed her hair with my right hand. "I promise you, that I won't be like the others. I'll love you like no else has. And I will never hurt you. I will always be there by your side and never let you go" I hugged her tight as she whispered to my ear "You promise?"

I looked at her straight in the eyes, cupped her face and gently kissed her. She kissed back softly with her sweet lips and put her arms around my neck. As our lips touched for the first time, I could feel the sparks fly and I could see forever in our future. It was the best moment that I ever had. We both slowly pulled away and she looked back at me, I pulled her close to my body as our foreheads touched and gave her my world... "I promise"
