Just for the record - these blasters first hit the sports scene in hockey games here in the States and Canada. But only a SINGLE horn per game. Then it's ok - it's so loud and obnoxious in the hands of a capable blower. The EXACT same noise-making device (plastic, elongated simple-trumpet first appeared in the early to mid seventies at hockey arenas. Plenty of video evidence in support of this. The fad kinda died out about ten years ago - some lone wolves out there still.

There's this frenchman that rides his bicycle and blows one of these here in the midtown neighbourhood. He's consistent if nothing else - done it for years. The guys a bum. Disturbing the peace first thing in the morning. We stumbled on his horn - hidden between some buildings .... we urinated all over it : ) .. now I don't mind hearing it first thing in the morning .. I start my morning with a good chuckle when I hear that obnoxious, monotonic drone.
