Pre-production Holden Vehicles from GM Australia donated to the World Rescue Challenge at Mystery Creek Show Grounds Hamilton New Zealand. There were 140 Cars, Ute's & Station Wagons at a cost of around $7.5 Million Dollars. All Vehicles apart from the Police, Fire & Ambulance Displays were sent from Australia to NZ; they had simulated damage applied to them by front end loaders crushing in the roofs, panels etc and were put into the competition. Straight after the cars were used there were officials who would make sure every part went back into the wreck, then they were put into a mobile crusher on site, put on trucks and shipped back to the Holden factory in Australia. They even drilled holes in the mag wheels to permanently put them out of balance so that they were not worth stealing. The Red GTO featured was crushed at the end of the show by a bull dozer!
