@RayRefined The taliban i guess fit the definition of terrorism but they're mainly just rebels. They don't want to bomb New York city or plant bombs in London airports. They want control of Afghanistan.
-
Forgot to mention this in the first comment, but the reason we are fighting the Taliban is to help Afghanistan take back their cities. The reason we are fighting the Al Qaeda is because of 9/11.
-
@patman173 I agree. The Taliban and Al Qaeda are NOT the same thing. It WAS the Al Qaeda that crashed into the twin towers on 9/11. The Taliban was causing problems in Afghanistan before 9/11 and were taking control over Afghani cities. They are both terrorist groups, but as I said before, they aren't the same thing. But we are encountering problems with both.

That, ladies and gentleman, is war in a nutshell. Think about what's being said. It's a metaphor. Those who have seen war knows what that means.

It doesn't matter how Marines describe it. Unless you've been through a war or live in a third world country, we'll never understand or appreciate what these people endure. Their silence speaks louder than any sob story we hear or footage we see.
