On May 13th 2008, I was invited to my friend's Wing Chun school to participate in a sparring class with three chosen students hand picked by the school's sifu, and I actually learned alot from these three sparring matches. What you are watching here is the third fight, and here, I am dressed in my school's uniform-- the Do-Bahk (Gi)... My opponent is a Sifu named Jerry. Thats right, I said Sifu-- and he was the hardest opponent I had ever went up against.

For the record, I am not a black belt-- I am a dark blue belt in Tang Soo Do, which is the last belt before achieving 1st Dan!

After having participated in the sparring matches, I made alot of new friends and garnered alot of respect from the Wing Chun students...

I really learned alot tonight...

Also, the music tracks in this fight video are from Gundam Battle Assault and KOF: Maximum Impact.

  • hey man, just curious, why are you wearing a 3rd through 1st Gup uniform with a Dan rank belt?

  • @ZombieSlayer762

I hadn't gotten around to removing the red collar strap from the Do Bahk yet. That's why.

  • i like your videos because your not a jerk and saying "look how much better my style is''

your more where can i improve. i don't know what they tell kids in MMA but every one i have the displeasure of talking to (and fighting)seem to think that MMA is "the best" even after i defeat them in any confrontation. there is no respect coming from these guys to any other styles

  • Thanks for commenting! And I totally get where you are coming from and totally get what you mean.

  • Why does he kick so much? The Wing Chun guy I mean. Wing Chun doesn't even have any roundhouse kicks as far as I know? Maybe he also did some Taekwondo or something?

  • He told me that he had also practiced in Chinese Kempo boxing alongside with Wing-Chun.

  • I have much respect for anyone who is willing to go out and visit other schools to learn more about other styles don't let it bother you if they have neg feed back! Its all about learning all styles. Until they actually have to fight for their life; they will never understand. When your bicep is gashed open with a knife and your thumb is hanging by skin and you survive and take out the threat; by using all skills, style does not matter and neither what you can do in damn ring!

  • if i have to fight with a wing chun sifu, i not will fight, but with a studient i try combo kick, and i try to in hit and go, in hit and go, trying to hiting when the oponet finish a tecnic, but i not will try to fight close the wing chuner becouse is there where he want to be, closer

  • ok, this is a cool video, there is no many video with a sifu fighting, i see lap sao, tan gerk and guan gerk and many thing more, maybe the tang soo do boy was intimidate by the size of the sifu, i want to see a the same tang soo do boy fight with a sifu with the same size, whatever the TSD boy have spirit, but yes, in the video was wing chun, i dont know what tthe people said wath that is not wing chun,

  • @grimrotten

I grew up learning military combat from my dad as well as grappling, boxing & teakwondo, my dad was very big on "the more well rounded you are the better" & that its not the "Art" or "Style" that wins a fight its the Fighter and there dedication to what they do and how well they can take a punch (LoL) . he also thought to get Respect you first have to give Respect the sad thing is that not many MMA fighters now that. mostly do to who first thought them. (bad teacher = bad student)

  • @grimrotten I don't mean to seem disrespectful, but technically Mixed Martial Arts is the "Best" as it is the utilising effective techniques from different styles, I learn Wing Chun, but my instructor also teaches mixed martial arts, During the MMA sessions we learn techniques from a variety of arts including Wing Chun such as Ju-Jutsu, Wrestling, Judo, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. I have found that by training in effective techniques that work, you will become a good fighter, No matter the art

  • GUNDAM always N°1 ;-)

  • It'd be hard to get any punches in on an opponent whose main style is kicking :P

  • This not Wing Chun vs Tang Soo Do.... this is a big guy who is too crap at fighting to do MMA, so instead he's beating up a little kid! :)

  • @mymyharlow i agree we all must humble ourselves and realize that the practitioner has responsibilities and there is a definite difference between everything. unavoidable consequence in life. that is why we study to improve our being, our awareness and overall potential to become great at something. in turn we must know the destructiveness we teach ourselves to prevent ourselves from harming others unless necessary, they are defensive arts of protection after all. humility must be shown
