====How to Lure Grasping Darknesses====
To lure Grasping Darknesses players require the use of a "Speed Boost", either from a skill or a consumable item, a minimum of +25% speed boost is required.

Speed boosts allows players to lure Grasping Darknesses away from Bladed Aatxe groups when the quest is taken. This works by simply activating the speed boost, then "aggroing" the Grasping Darkness (using your aggro bubble on the compass) that are mixed with Aatxe's, and then run away back down the stairs until Aatxe break aggro, leaving you with just Grasping Darknesses.

This happens because Grasping Darknesses have a permanent natural +33% speed boost and Aatxe do not.

Why not just kill the aatxes? With a better build you kill aatxes, grasping darknesses and smithers in 1 run

Because that would take longer and would require a different and less "safer" build than the one shown.

Most people tend to just farm smites when they go in solo as it's much quicker and easier. Aataxe do have a higher Ecto drop rate but there's not many of them and they're much more tricky to take down solo. So it's better to just do more quicker smite runs than slower runs that kill Aatxe's too.

Could this build work for farming lesser mobs but without spike trap? I haven't made it to Ring of Fire yet to cap it.

Outside of UW? perhaps. But you'll be reducing your overall damage quite a bit. Especially now that Spike Traps stronger.

I can't really say if it would work or not unless you can be more specific on what mobs you are thinking of trying it on.

There is/has been builds that use traps along with bow attacks. You might be able to muster up something seeing as you'll have a elite slot to spare.

55, but you don't need to really have that much. Anything from 45 to 50 would still be fine.

I know this is late, but I notice that you don't use Winnowing much, I'm wondering if that could be replaced with something that could make it easier to take out aataxes so you could do a whole lot of the Underworld.
