In Britain this was sold as the `landstar wind se` they were very popular as taxis but they only had a 1200cc engine so weren`t very fast. they were the first car with power steering in britain.

@marshalllucky No they weren't. Daewoo didn't start selling cars in the UK until 1995 with the arrival of the Nexia.

The back end is off the Senator - the rest of it is the same as the Rekord. In South Africa, the Opel Commodore had the Senator front end.

My god, I bet the 1500 could barely move with all that weight. My old man had a Carlton 2200 - much better!

Funny how the commercial looks and sounds like Japanese car commericals of the same vintage...
Daewoo also built rebadged Honda Legends at some point
