Actually, the MP5 and G3 were made by the same manufacturer, Heckler & Koch, which is why they bear resemblance, especially the iron sights.

@Twatzaki101 yeah they looks the same cause they have been designed at about the same moment by the same brand, the mp5 is the "smg version" (MP for machine pistol) and the G3 is the "rifle version" (G for gewehr) well, i think
