Manhole fire in Sunset Park, Brookln

A raging manhole fire in Sunset Park, Brooklyn almost took the life to 2 victims. Thanx to the bravery of the FDNY members on the scene they searched all the homes for CO and recovered two people. We owe these guys a lot for what they do for us!

for all you idiots. I work for pseg. The fire can't be put out with water. it's an electrical fire. It won;t stop until power is cut. 2nd for the fire fighters these fires are bound to happen when people use too much power in there houses. there's MILES of cable in the ground. impossible to replace it all at once and some of it's been in the ground working since 1920. it has to break down some time. be glad to have utility workers to kill it for you, so you don't have to piss your pants

These fires are extremly dangerous.... first it will blow that 100lbs cover off, just getn hit by that alone will kill you... then its underground, so u cant see it, then it releases invisible, but toxic gasses in2 the surrounding homes... NEVA TAKE THESE LIGHTLY!!!!!!

carbon monoxide travels into the houses and buildings surrounding through utility feeds. It's very common for people to get seriously sick from CO at these fires.

Just fill the manhole with CO2 gas and the fire will go out by itself without water.
