I'll just throw this out there. This is my most favorite movie in the universe. It combines everything I love. Pirates, astronomy, teenage stuff, bad men turned good mentors, father/son relationships. Yeah. I love it.
And I could listen to this song ALL day if I had to.

Okay, for those of you who do notice, YES, I did splice together two separate shots, but that's because I was SO fed up with recording it. My dog kept walking across the wood floor and making clicking noises with his nails and my sister kept laughing, so I was not about to do it again! :) Hope it doesn't bug anyone.

Oh, yeah. And this version doesn't have the intro. I just bought the sheet music with the intro in it, so maybe I'll rerecord it someday....(Is rerecord even a word...? O_o)

Goodness, that's a hard question to pin down. I can't remember when I started to play it. I know it was hard for me at first, and I'm guessing that I had about 8-9 years under my belt. But, depending on how hard you practice, the time could definitely vary! I hated practicing when I was younger! ^_^
