This video is about Sancho, an orphaned giant river otter. He was only 20 days old when a fisherman in Pantanal Brazil found him. He was rescued and raised by Carolina Vargas a veterinarian and giant otter observer and naturalist Carolina made a very important role in Sancho's life as a sorrugate mother she needs to teach him how to catch his own fish and avoid predator and most of all how to be a wild otter. By the time Sancho was 6 months old he already know how to fish and Carolina started to slowly lessened the bond between her and Sancho. She intended to put a transmitter collar on him, but he left before she could. He was 9 months old, she tried to find him but luck did not come her way. I was very touched by this story. And still thinking "Where is Sancho" I hope that he is safe.

  • Poor Sancho, he was a cheeky young fellow, his behaviour almost reminded me of a human child at times.

  • "Raising Sancho" is a brilliant documentary. Sad, but well worth watching and learning about these wonderful creatures. Donate money or time to help prevent their extinction. Otters rule!

  • Sancho wherever you are i hope you are happy.

  • Thanks for that, and for posting Sancho's vids...it was a great documentary. And also for subscribing to my Cocoa's videos (under cocoa3c :)
