Over the weekend the Central New York APA pool leagues battled for the chance to go to Las Vegas and compete in the APA National 9-ball tournament. Teams from Binghamton, Endicott, Ithaca, and other parts of Central New York competed at the American Legion Post 82 in Endicott on Saturday and Sunday.

The video is just 2 matches out of several for Michael Vass (rank 5) and Tim Cox (rank 7) and part of their respective teams efforts. It shows a bit of the quality of play and caliber of the players in Central New York.

Sadly neither team won the qualifier, but all the teams we great sportsmen and gave it their all.

  • those guys aint sandbagging or something...he really missed that bih on 8...as the way i see those two...they play good on 7ft table but let me tell u something and i bet they will be both 4`s on 9ft table...1 more thing i could tell they are not that good and i ranked them as 4`s coz of the stroke and the way they bridge...when u see a real 7 u will know what im talking about!

  • @dontkizzme03 Actually, I started on the 9' some 30 years ago. I'm far better on that table and much worse on shorter tables. And I've played and beaten 7's in Vegas, I have been there before.

  • i see the guy in green missing that on purpose for 2 reasons.

#1 He was racking up to many points (but I did not see the other games he had)

#2 if #1 is true than he is sandbagging (he missed the 8 and left the guy with a tough shot) I will say though in tennis league in california and new york there 4.5 (aka 7) are stronger than say washington states 4.5's. I don't know if apa is like that to. keep enjoying pool people.

  • @Bladerunner55217 Similar. About a half a skill point to 1 lower. But it all depends on the game and the day. And there is only so much video I could take and edit.

  • Qualifying on quarter tables?

  • @jofes51 Yep. League rules, not my choice.

  • @nhagelin1026 Rough start for us both actually. And a lot of pressure as our teams both had people missing.

  • I'm a 5 in 9-ball (4 in 8-ball), and honestly I'm not impressed by either of these two. I don't know if it was the table or if they were both just having a rough start - but I've seen my fair share of 7's (good and bad ones), and I've never seen one miss a BIH.

  • Hey man u got any quarters nah well I guess nobody goes to Vegas lol

  • 7 my ass

  • well the guy in green deserves to lose for missing that bih on 8...i dont care what his sl is.
