C-5 Air Refueling. Video by Tech. Sgt. Pedro Jimenez | 2nd Combat Camera Squadron | Date: 05.21.2012. Utah Air National Guard members from the 191st Air Refueling Squadron execute an air refueling mission on a C-5 Galaxy from a KC-135 Stratotanker to maintain their job proficiency on May 21, 2012. The 151st Air Refueling Wing routinely supports air operations across the western United States, in this case a C-5 aircraft from the 60th Air Mobility Wing (AMC), Travis AFB, CA.

    Reads like a logical explanation to me. The only option I'd see to move the same volume of cargo would be the expense of having more cargo planes in the fleet The total fuel consumed most likely wouldn't be less AFAIK

    Because in wartime conditions they take off with a heavy load and a light fuel load, there by getting more cargo to where it needs to be. Like during the cold war. and B-52s. Max bomb loads near min fuel loads. But for someone who has more than likley never had to deal with it. you probably would not understand. a former KC-135R CrewChief

    If a Galaxy can't hold enough fuel to be mission able Then ???? Can you just imagine what this Standing military costs US tax payers in fuel costs alone .. And these are the very same Men who set up NORCOM.. To get this .. Protect WE THE PEOPLE ? What PURE 100% WASTE OF TAX PAYER DOLLARS.. If the petroleum Companys want to invade for Oil I say fuck em let them pay out for it out of there Mega windfall profits Why should it be on the US Tax payers .. Just exactly who's feeding off who here ?
