I really would like to get in touch with Sargy Mann. I saw his work at the Cadogan Gallery, London. I have increasingly poor sight so my interest is in the fusiform-gyrus the area of the brain specially designated for face recognition. Looking at abstract pictures we search compulsively for human faces, our brain activity seems to demand it. I make paintings that probe for the abstract thread somewhere between abstraction and non-abstraction.

I was a student of Sargy's at Camberwell School of Art during my Foundation year 1978-79. As an impressionable 18 year old with a dream of being a painter, Sargy was an inspiration.
It's great to see Sargy still working despite his virtual blindness and I enjoyed the video Peter.
Sargy won't remember me I'm sure but I continue to paint and sculpt and live in New Zealand now. I was in the same year as Susan Wilson who I think Sargy will definately know.
