  • Thanks for the commercial---I remembered part of it and you helped supply the missing points.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. this is one of my most beloved childhood memories.

  • Do you remember those for "good and plenty" and "doublemint gum?" I grew up on the east side of Detroit, around VanDyke and Harper area!

  • I remember those! Unfortunately I can't seem to find them.

But I grew up in that area as well...I stayed on Georgia st. until 1990. Did you go to Burroughs?

  • A shortened version of this spot came back to TV in the late 70's. Only at the end was the modern style of bottle shown.

  • I thought I remembered seeing that, like around 1979 or 1980 but chalked it up as a childhood imagination LOL

  • The audio for this commercial was used on a rock radio LP in the 1970s, which was a re-created 1950s rock radio show, using old commercials and records. And from that, I always thought the Faygo Kid had a pretty "fey" sounding voice.

  • Is The Faygo Kid a wicked clown? He got shot 6 times and bitch slapped that dude..

  • @nancypit I was on the west side near Tireman and Grand River.

I remember this being a stable on Detroit television, specifically WXYZ, channel 7.

  • "EVERYBODY SING!!! send yo momma straight up to the store. tell that bitch to bring home a faygo!"

  • FAyyyyygOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I loved this commerical. It certainly knew how to capture a kid's attention.

  • i believe the commerical was shorten when it first aired in color in the late 1950s. approx dates:

    1953 Original B&W version

    1957/58 Shorten Original color version

1979/80 version with updated bottles at end.

Just like the famous "Roy O'Brien Ford" Commericals, first made in the 1950 and still airing today.

  • brings back memorys.

  • I live in the D.I wish they would bring this old commercial back.

  • thats awesome
