  • Wish there were videos of Gelsey Kirkland dancing Giselle.

  • Sorry, don't want to spoil everything here, but imo it's not that great. In fact, I must give it another go because so many comments here cannot be so wrong, or can they...

  • Waaaaah, why did she have to die??? *sniff* Thanks for posting. :')

  • the BEST of the BEST. the modern day dancers need to learn a thing or two from these magnificent dancers about performing as opposed to dancing. though modern dancers have the technicality, baryshnikov and makarova have that AND interpretive artistry.

  • I had never seen this before, such overwhelming, torturing, tragic beauty! Both are technically astonishing, but their dramatic interpretation is even greater. I love it that she is not too demonstrative, after all she is a ghost, a spectre. The last two minutes are heartbreaking, she glides away sur les points and he crushes the white flowers of his lost love. Magnificent!

  • most beautiful and moving Giselle I have ever seen! it makes my heart ache at the end.

  • No se puede negar, y, Sin lugar a dudas Ella, Si no la mas grande, Una de las

Mas Grandes Giselle, de todos los tiempos, y El en una de sus mas gloriosas

    actuaciones. Inolvidables.

  • @pinklady80lately Baryshnikov is not the only dancer who elicited gasps from the audience by doing these. Check out Fernando Bujones (sublime; technically perfect), and even Nureyev before them (maybe not as technically precise, but full of passion).

  • Bravo, bravo bravo !!!!!!!

  • Is that stage really that small? Everybody has to hold in.

Check the second girl from the back at 0.08. Poor thing.

Beautifull performance though. Thanks for posting
