I got caught singing on the street and the guy said "how old is that song your singing (it was Barrettes Privateers) and i said the year of the album and he was all like "dude it sounds so authentic..." that was Stans talent... ahh music of my childhood
I love this song. Stan Rodgers was a great musician. I know that the United States and Canada have different ideas some times. It is evident by how they spell there name. In the U.S. it is spelled Canada. To a Canadian it is spelled CND. Yet when they read CND they say C ah! N ah! D ah! I sure am glad that they are good sports!
I'm not one to get too hung up on national pride, but I have to say, it really feels good to see people in other countries enjoying the work of a signer songwriter whom I admire so much, and who happened to be from a town less than an hour's drive from me. Makes me happy. (his brother actually is also a great songwriter, is still recording, and also still lives not far from my area).
@whybelikethat I'm not sure how each spells the POSSESSIVE "their", as in "there name".

A very credible job, but a little too fast.
Stan Rogers died in a airline fire just past 25 years (June 2, 1983). His music is still heard and played throughout the world.
One of Canada's most treasured singer-songwriters, even these long years after his passing!

Not sure why Gerry is singing up tempo...on his CD, he sings much like Rogers did.
