Al Gore: The Assault On Reason

A 1992 speech given by Al Gore in which he literally rants for 10 solid minutes about how the Reagan and Bush, Sr. administrations IGNORED all of the evidence that Saddam Hussein was an evil dictator guilty of horrible atrocities against his own people, that he was unquestionably in possession of WMDs because he had ruthlessly used them on innocent, defenseless people(poison gas), that there was clear evidence to show that he was actively seeking to acquire nuclear technology, and that he had actively assisted in the escape of terrorists responsible for scores of civilian deaths (the hijacking of the Achille Lauro, for one). This is, of course, the exact OPPOSITE of what his current book argues. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Cram it. You don't know what you're talking about and either didn't watch or didn't understand the video. Gore catalogues Hussein's cooperation with terrorists, use of chemical weapons on the Kurds and development of a nuclear program. He also crucifies the first Bush admin for pursuing a policy of granting more diplomatic favors to Iraq in an effort to modify Hussein's tyranny-a policy that he says COULDN'T work with Hussein in still in power (calling him a "monster.")...

(cont.) So, if all of this was "true" when Gore said it in 1992, can you explain how it was somehow, suddenly, magically "not true" when GW Bush made the same arguments in 2003? Seanarther, People forget Bush Sr helped to arm Saadam because he was killing Iranians. At least twice Clinton/Gore allowed the Turkish army to enter the no-fly zone to kill Kurds that Clinton/Gore were killing Iraqians to protect

Bush Sr called Saadam Hitler, yet left him in power, then his son took him out years later
