This must be an early episode. Unlike "the Beeve", Tony Dow's performance as Wally seems really mechanical; he got better as time went on. The note is funny as hell, though.

If a teacher desires to communicate with the parent, the teacher should NOT send a note by way of the child. The child will think it is something bad and "lose" the note rather than deliver it. If the teacher has something to say to the parent, the teacher should call the parent or send a note by mail. Of course, nowadays, e-mail to the parent is always a possibility!
