I never heard of Professor Longhair before until I read the biography of Clarence "Frogman" Henry at wikipedia. PL was mentioned there and I looked him up. So that's what brought me here. So cool. Didn't get to N.O. until April 2005--probably too late to hear these guys.

I'm glad that it is something as harmless as music that has pointed out life's inequities to the people here. Yes, it's true. Life is, in fact, not fair and untalented people often go recognized while the talented do not. But take heart that the beauty of this music exists and that we have the pleasure of hearing it. Don't take it so hard!

@fredface23456 I feel the same way, but if it makes you feel any better my grandson has loved this type music since he was 4. He is now 9. He also loves celtic ...real celtic, not pre-fab...and some bluegrass. I know he is an exception, but when I get real discouraged I think of him. I know there are others out there. They have to be exposed to the music. Since it is not on the radio, we have to let them hear it so they can learn to love it. Good luck to all of us! :)

Dr. John gives him credit in every concert I have seen him in. That is how I found out about him years and years ago. Of course a lot of people don't know about Dr. John...Thank you for your videos. I had never seen Professor Longhair.
