Its good to see that at least one girl stood up for the wonderful people at Hephzibah House. the Williams' are godly people and they run a good school and Im glad for such a school for troubled girls. Its just sad that so many people don't realize that bitter, wicked girls who don't wanna be told what to do are not the most honest people and would tell lies to make good people look bad b/c they wanted these girls to do right. Thanks to miss Pennington for her courage to stand up for what's right

what we need to do is get these IFB pastors together and beat the hell out of them. IN THE NAME OF JESUS

What is wrong with this picture? A teenage girl held face down on the floor by 2 women plus A CHAIR, possibly a 4th person in the chair, while being hit with a board wielded by a 6’ male. Your story is deeply disturbing and serves to reinforce the imminent closure of Hephzibah House. Thank you for coming forward with your points of view, I wish others who support HH, including the leadership and staff had as much courage as you and would do the same.

What struck me was her stilted demeanor and lack of memory of the details when she spoke about her own past, contrasted by the animated expression and acute memory of the abuses suffered by other girls at Hephzibah House. She's not brainwashed. She knows exactly what's going on and is covertly giddy, righteous and sadistic. But it was coming out of her pores during this interview. It would be great if she could begin to feel something. She might screen and cry for weeks. So, so sad.
Why didn't the woman think the way they spanked her was strange??? Did her parents discipline her like that? ...flat on the floor, arms and legs held down, a chair over her back?? I have never heard of such a thing. Definitely doesn't add up. To me, she sounds brainwashed.

@cincational Some important points about Mrs. Pennington. First, she had a tragic childhood, so tragic that a cult environment was a step up. 2nd, her views on what happened so long ago must have been skewed by her ignorance of what it must be like to be treated with basic human dignity and respect. 3rd, she admittedly worked with youth in MO where she instructed them to restrain each other which leads me to believe that she thinks the abuse which happened in HH is acceptable.

Anderson Cooper didn't think being "held down" and a "chair being placed over her" as a bit strange? He didn't ask her if what she was saying was from her personal knowlege and experience or if it was something she was told by the administrators of the home....wish he would have caught these two things.

@cincational I agree, why would a chair need to be placed over a child? Something doesn't add up here.
