For the majority of Americans today, single payer is dead in the water. Americans are big on choice and are understandably cynical about throwing out the baby with the bath water and staring up a whole new system. I prefer Edwards' plan--taking what works best and pushing that forward, pushing back what doesn't work. John's plan could evolve to single payer.
