(Reuploaded with better quality, more brightness and correct aspect ratio)

Some basic shapes. Effects used:
-softbody
-radiosity lighting (lightsources in the centers of the objects)
-subsurface scattering (makes the objects look like rubber)

This 5 seconds (150 frames) took about 8 hours to render on my C2D E7200 2.5GHz (overclocked to 3,0GHz). The reason for long rendering time is the combination of radiosity lighting and subsurface scattering: radiosity lighting can be calculated only on one core at a time, and subsurface scattering is just generally time-consuming.

And, before rendering, you have to calculate the softbody physics (which took something like 15 minutes if I remember right)...

Watch in HD.

  • Radioactive jello! YAY!

  • Reminds me of jello. Of course I wouldn't want to eat a radioactive rubix cube.

  • great to do cool glowing stuff, but have you figured out how to get emit materials to cast shaows (it will be dark on the shadow side of an object in front of the emitter material but doesn't project the shadow behind it, making it appear to hover) only course i can think of is to use spotlights with cast shadow only for each object.

  • i want to eat that!

  • Very Nice.

  • So much better in HD :)

Great Job dude, you should do a tutorial!

  • Really better in HD ;)

    Nice Job!!
