Minnesota Contemporary Quilt exhibit opens at the James J. Hill House October 2, 2010- March 1, 2011. View quilts by Helen Kelley and Jan Myers-Newbury whose work is included in the book, "The Twentieth Century's Best American Quilts". Anticipate that approaching cold front that you can feel when viewing Rosemary Root's "The Low that Brought the Cold and Snow to Minnesota", or choose your favorite Minnesota symbol beaded into Nancy Eha's "Minnesota Inspired!" In our newest acquisition, revisit a favorite scene at Lake Itasca recreated in appliqué and embroidery by Park Rapids resident, Samuel Myers in 1935. Fourteen Minnesota contemporary quilters will inspire your own creativity, including work by Cecile Lewis, Erica Spitzer Rasmussen, Clare Degerness, Wendy Richardson, Nancy Gipple, Carol Wagner, Susan Stein, Judith Murray-Toppings, and Claudia Clark Myers.
