La pianiste (The Piano Teacher) trailer

Erika Kohut is a pianist, teaching music. Schubert and Schumann are her forte, but she's not quite at concert level. She's approaching middle age, living with her mother who is domineering then submissive; Erika is a victim then combative. With her students she is severe. She visits a sex shop to watch DVDs; she walks a drive-in theater to stare at couples having sex. Walter is a self-assured student with some musical talent; he auditions for her class and is forthright in his attraction to her. She responds coldly then demands he let her lead. Next she changes the game with a letter, inviting him into her fantasies. How will he respond; how does sex have power over our other faculties?

This is probably the absolute worst trailer I've ever seen for such a fantastic film! It's gives too much away with flashy edits, critic recommendations, and that AWFUL voice over. This is the kind of film one should go in without being told almost everything about it.

Since when did so many trashy "realistic" (in what universe is this realistic?) romance/steamy sex movies become so acclaimed? So because something shows people acting perverted and naughty therefore it's good? Trust me, I have nothing against sex on film, I have nothing against controversial subject matter, but this just looks like nonsense. I'd rather watch a real sexploitation film.

lol youtube has the full movie and they show the "scene" where she goes to "the place" dont know why i found that so funny. i should really stop procrastinating and just go do my homework like a goodboy.bye!!!!

@jrmetmoi I understand the gist of the story perfectly but you know I think the director should have done a little bit more to show why the piano teacher is like that, maybe a short background scene showing a traumatic experience from childhood that explained her behavior would be a good thing. But all in alll though, even without that, I think the movie was good. I actually felt sorry for the piano teacher at the end.
