*Watch in HQ* Kate Silverton appeared in this episode back in 2003. Time Commanders is a series of programmes made by Lion TV for BBC Two that ran for two seasons from 2003 to 2005.

It uses an edited version of the game engine behind the real-time strategy game Rome: Total War by the Creative Assembly to recreate famous battles of the ancient world.

The battles are replayed by 4-player teams from diverse backgrounds. The teams are unfamiliar with computer games, to make sure their gaming skills do not influence their success. After a brief introduction of the battle, including an overview of military units, terrain and available forces, the players have to develop a strategy and then deploy their forces. Two of the players are selected as generals, who will direct the battle and have access to a strategic map. The other two players are designated lieutenants, the units are indirectly controlled by the lieutenants, who issue commands to program assistants, who in turn use the game interface to control the units.

  • Al Murray is a tactical genius. The military lost a potential general to the pub business there. Makes me proud to be British.

  • Raji ruined it.

  • 'i agree' says kate. get to fuck as if he has to run every decision past you for approval, u havent a clue. 'is that our guys attacking?' duh

ravi 'shall i fire on enemy' nah just let your archers do nothing and die

  • really start to dislike kate now, she is a bit too dumb to be the general...

  • @YappyRaccoon Hate? Where exactly did you find that?

  • @BeastOfSpool Your stupidity is only matched by your hate.

  • @MrSteelsurfer But sending the Elephants against the enemy cavalry and heavy infantry was the better option.

  • @YappyRaccoon Casual Racism

    Love you internet.

  • The ugly muslim fag is the poop on the shoes of a nice battle. I wish that fag wasn't there.

  • seems like they weren't instructed how to use cavalry well in the beginning, they were told "good on flanks" not "good when charged, bad in prolonged melee"

  • @cuthbertm Raji? It was kate fussing about the damn elephants :L If they'd stuck to Al's original plan, it would have gone a lot smoother.
