Pro Football Thursday Indianapolis at Jacksonville Jaguars (+7) (8:15PM ET) (NFL Network)
The Jaguars historically have played the Colts tough and the Jags showed good effort in their comeback victory over the Packers last week. The Colts have not been a good cover team as they have cashed only 4 of their past 12 games for pointspread players. Dan Orlovsky was able to pass for 233 yards on 23/34 passing for the Lions last week against Colts as Detroit covered the spread. The Colts are near the bottom in rushing this season averaging just 73 yards per game and only 3.4 yards per attempt. That explains why Indy has not separated from teams to earn point spread victories. After a disappointing home campaign on the season head coach Jack Del Rio would like his Jaguars to give the home folks a good effort here and something to build for in 2009. Dennis Northcutt filled in nicely at wideout last week for the Jaguars and gives Jacksonville some much needed help in the vertical passing game. There is still some life left in these Jags in their last home game of the season. Take Jacksonville +7
Selection: Jacksonville +7
...despite the stats, facts and what should be, it's hard to bet against the Colts.
