Tamiya DF-02 Gravel hound on tarmac racing

It was taken by my friend, at Buggy king class A-main final of Tamiya All Japan Championships Fukui Grand prix in Aug. 2002.

I uploaded it for only demonstration about proof of the good potential of DF-02.
It has a competitive character enough even if you must run with standard Spire spike tires on tarmac circuit

No, all they were using RS540SH sport tuned motor with high speed spur gear.

mine has the tz motor with 21-67 gearing(8.30)

Anyone know why this A-Main Final crowd is so sparse? Is this hobby declining in Japan? The RC crowds are generally bigger in Malaysia, Australia, S'pore, even for qualifying rounds. Japanese crowds in the 1980s Tamiya RC catalog were also much bigger.
