Commemoration of the Buford Massacre, Lancaster, South Carolina. It was here that the British Banastre Tarlteton disregarded the flag of surrender and slaughtered American patriots returning home to Viriginia. This earned him the nickname of 'Bloody Ban.' The injustice of this small battle turned the tide of the American Revolution, and Patriots shouted "Remember Tarleton's Quarter," as they defeated the Redcoat forces, and won our freedom.
It's fabulous to see that honor is still offered to those who fought during this war. No matter if they were American Colonial, British, Hessian, French, Spanish, Native American, and whoever else... they should be honored, good deeds or bad (well, except General Gates).
