IED Blast in Afghanistan, cutting open an Infectious foot to drain...

I was hit by an IED in Afghanistan, got an infection in my foot while home on leave from Walter Reed Army Medical Center. I decided to cut open the foot and drain it to relieve pressure in the foot for the ride back to Walter Reed from TN. The infection turned out to be in the bone and I will be loosing the leg below the knee next week.

Yea seein alot of people commenting on why I didnt go to the emergency room right away. 1st off Im not stupid, I had been dealing with infection on and off for months. I did it myself because of the pressure and pain and because I was at home on leave away from Walter Reed, going to local hospital would have been a nightmare, and was returning to WR the next day anyway. Nothing I did affected the infection in any way. They could have tried again, but it wasnt worth it, leg was worthless anyway.

@kr4yzi32k Apparently you don't know how military service works, people sign up to serve and go where they are sent, no questions asked. They might even be called to protect you someday. No soldier goes to war with the intent to kill innocent people, that's absurd and you show your ignorance by even thinking it much less saying it. If you want to see "real" innocent killing, take a vacation to Syria.
