Why is Clear Channel considering giving this crazy person (aka Herenton) a radio talk show? Somethin' ain't right about that. I find it rather suspicious, considering, Clear Channel is ran by old school, dyed in the wool, CONSERVATIVES. I always suspected this guy was bought and paid for by the Republicans, now I know he is. I can't believe people voted for this douchebag.....

So now he wants to go to congress. He could have said watch out for the people counting the votes rather than "don't trust white people to count the votes". Source Memphis news channel 10:00 PM August 3rd 2010. The comment belies a racist attitude.

Herenton did alot for Memphis. He managed to get all the parks in Memphis, fixed up. The park across from my house had all new equipment, a walking trail, basketball goals, benches and sod. It looks terrible today because of Memphians. If the govt fixes it up, we should be good citizens and keep it up. A mayor can only do so much. As for crime, people to come from New Orleans and thus crime got worse. Blame the DA "Bill Gibbons who got elected on a "No Deals" Platform yet still makes deals.

He is not a good leader. He's a liar and he seems to delight in stirring up racial strife in Memphis, the most racially divided city in the country.
He has benn successful in one thing- moving Memphis in the wrong direction for many, many years. The city is crying for help and neither him nor the rest of the city's politicians are doing anything about it. He stood by while millions were drained from the school system and MPD and insists on wasting money for sports arenas. Good? Smart? Ha!

before he got elected he seemed like the perfect canidate for mayor of Memphis.Brother was I stupid. Power really got ahold of him. He 's never but a clown. Ego driven theif. Talks about God and yet has kids out of wedlock.....right a good christian.......

"They" didn't get him on the parking garage deal -- he was too quick covering himself, after he got wind they were on to the scheme, HOWEVER -- "they" just might have him on this Sexual Assault Center, and mis-appropriation of public funds. I'm sure Willie and his boys, mis-appropriate every thing, every deal, every payout, they can already!

i lived in memphis, tn from 1990-1993. i saw it go from a great city to the sespool that it is now. mayor willie herenton is 100% responsible for that. i watched the news, he wanted the whites out of beale street off the council, off the police ranks and fire ranks, wanting to tax people who worked in memphis, but lived in germantown, collierville, etc. well mayor willie, you were not just successful in destroying memphis for the whites, but you went so far as to destroy it for blacks also

I have been a Memphian my entire 22 years of life. I am sick of hearing ppl used the n-word, not only because its racist, but almost in every situation I've heard it used, the people using it are no better than the people they direct the word at...often they are worse. Herenton is a sack of shit, but it has nothing to do with him being black. Just like Bush is a sack of shit, but not because he is white.
