  • Thanks for your comments lumdeloo. I wasnt aware of the new Through the Years Live DVD. Will track it down.

Actually on the GC and Friends DVD set (2007), the Jimmy Webb episode has the best overall picture and sound of the six shows, except on about the last three tracks, including Macarthur Park, where it descends into serious audio distortion.

I agree Glen is in fine voice here.

  • For my money, Glen's 2002 live version with the South Dakota Symphony is a better overall performance even if GC doesnt have the same vocal range 27 years later. The guitar playing seems more integrated too.

As Chet once said, Glen could play the hell out of an axe. What chops the guy had, both vocally and instrumentally. A formidable set of musical gifts.

Hope you enjoy the clearer audio. It's from an audio cassette I personally recorded from my Grandma's TV set back in 76.

  • phenomenal!!

  • Thanks so much for this drastically improved audio... Glen is too good - that's why he's under-appreciated. His talent seems effortless.

  • @oldgoody1 It is worth it to track down That Through the Years Live CD/DVD, because it contains 5 previously unreleased tracks from the 1975 Music Shows and the 1972 Talk of the Town performance.

  • I agree with you about the 2001 live performance. However, Glen's voice here is at its best. Thanks very much for uploading. By the way, this year this performance was released on DVD again (Through the Years Live) and the audio was already better than the quite terrible version they released on Glen Campbell and Friends (2007). Your version is even better though.
