I've got a SCT-19 without the bands :(
is it worth replacing the bands or should I just throw it away?

I had this deck many years ago. It was the BEST cassette deck I've ever worked with. You could really record hard into it... and no distortion. If I still used tapes, I'd search e-pay for one of these, but now, I record everything digital.

I have one that has a weak channel, doesn't get loud enough and has back ground noise, could be a cap need replacing have you done that?

I just found one of these tape recorders in a pawn shop as well and it has the same problem that you describe in this video. Did you ever manage to repair the issue with the transport? I took a look inside, but it seems like quite a mess and I don't want to screw with it too much. I'd love to get this working though, it's a cool machine!

Oh, I forgot to ask, when you repair this machine, could you make a video of the insides? I'd love to see the Ac motor and transport! I bet others would enjoy that too. Thanks!

Nice machine! Try cleaning the rubber idlers that go between the take up and rewind spindles with alcohol. That often gets the grip back. You probably already know that ;>) Check out my Realistic SCT 86, a 1992 cute little deck. Tha nks for the video!

That..is..a NICE deck!! I'm pretty sue the Memory switch is to stop the tape at zero on the counter when rewinding.

I sounds great, even with a worn out tape. The transport is a nightmare to service though, and I don't know how long it will be before I will have it back together. I need to have the idler rollers rebuilt.
