From the Toronto rock singer's 1991 major label debut. Originally performing under the name Bambi, her 1987 cover of David Essex's Rock On was a summer hit on 102.1 FM, TO's primary alternative rock station, and led to her signing to A&M Records, with the proviso of a name change. The result, 1991's Betty Moon self-titled release, provided both a new name and a new sound, as she began to lean away from pop and towards rock. Her later work has followed the same vector much further; some of her more recent material is exceedingly hard rock indeed. While you can access her newer music through her myspace page, the major label deal meant videos, which means that the earlier more pop-oriented material tends to be the stuff that got videos made, though there are exceptions (see "Revenge").
