I must say it was quite sobering seeing all those rx7's crash :S

Anyone can get into an Impreza or Evo and drive it quickly. You need finesse to get the best out of an FD.
If you get it right in an RX7, you know it's you doing it. On the other hand, get it wrong and you've only yourself to blame.
That's why I prefer mine to any saloon crammed full of electronic diffs and so on.
