A memorial tribute to the Geese of Prospect Park, who gave me so much joy. On the morning of Thursday, July 8th 2010, 400 Canada geese were rounded up and gassed to death by the federal Agriculture Department as an aviation safety measure.
I went to the place where this video was shot on that Thursday afternoon and was surprised by how empty the lake was. I talked with other park goers about the curious lack of geese and speculated as to where they might be, None of us guessed correctly.
I shot this about a year ago in one of my favorite spots.
