The caller assumes that the presence or absence of adherents to a particular point of view proves something about the reliability of that view. The fact that most Americans are Christians who doubt evolution says nothing about the truth of evolution or of Christianity. It merely proves the success of Christianity at spreading itself through that population at the cost of opposing views. It would be more instructive to examine why people believe one thing rather than another.
