Just testing out using Bink Videos as a moving texture inside UDK. It seems the bink video files don't need to follow the 512x512, 1024x1024 (ect.) rule.

  • HAHAHAHA!! I love the video! :))

Alright, I have to try this. Is it as simple as convert a video and then hook it to a texture in UDK?

  • @kobayz You just need the RAD Video tools. Then using that program convert the video to audio only in WAV format, then convert the video again to BIK you should have 2 files now. Import the BIK and WAV into the Unreal Development Kit. Apply the BIK/Bink video as a texture to an object. and drag and drop the sound in the scene as well. Music should play in synch with the video. Also if you want to make a TV screen like i did, check out how to make a Multi-Sub object for the UDK ^_^

  • is there a limit to the size of the bink file? shame we cant use mp3 or avi files.

  • @falconianuk I think the only limitation you will encounter is your Hardware. That video was around 100MB though and seemed to work fine, and had no real impact on frame rate in game. You can use MP3 and AVI files, and convert them using Bink Video tools, which may be downloaded for free, just search on google for RAD game tools.

Just convert your mp3 to wav using the tools and the avi to bik.

    Hopefully that should help :)

  • Thats A fucking scary setting your created

  • @Shmaitotem haha thanks. I was just trying to test Bink Video and Wav Audio together to get some form of TV screen. I'm not any good at making full games, i've seen the videos you've uploaded on your channel. Are there any good tutorials you can reccomend, for making a full game in UDK?
