Mexico claimed Arizona but never had more than a couple hundred people there. They had no army presence, and the population lived in constant fear of the Apaches. There was no military defense of Arizona because there was no Mexican army, and the people living there were glad to be defended from the Apaches.

@94dc2integ It was unlivable and that's why mexico sold it to us in the Gadsden Purchase. it was UNLIVABLE until the tax payers of the USA spent billions to bring the Colorado to the desert. Hundreds of damns and aquifers. We made the land livable and now these turds (whom were paid) act like the selling never happened.

The natives in this country ARE here, have always been here, the mexican indians were always in the region now called Mexico, which wasn't even a country until 150 years ago.
